An elastomeric roof coating provides the ultimate in reflectivity, color stability and weather resistance over new or existing roof surfaces. Although it is highly flexible, it exhibits a tough, enamellike finish that resists abrasion, biological growth, dirt, oil and all types of weather extremes.
KYMAX
is a low-build elastomeric coating that is typically applied
at the rate of 3 to 4 dry mils (76 to 102 microns). It is designed as
a finish coat over a standard elastomeric acrylic basecoat, such as UNITED’S
Roof Mate, Roof Mate Basecoat, Roofshield or Acrycryl Systems. KYMAX
can also be applied directly over approved substrates such as PVC, to
provide increased dirt pick-up resistance and reflectivity.
Typical substrates include standing seam and corregated metal roofs, sprayed-in-place polyurethane foam, modified bitumen, PVC, TPO, Hypalon® and EPDM. KYMAX is recommended whenever exceptional weatherability and/or reflectivity are required, whether the environmental threat is algae, mildew, dirt or industrial fallout. It also provides additional UV and color stability, even in bright colors. KYMAX is an excellent barrier to plasticizer migration, and is also effective in preventing asphalt bleed-through. The natural fire retardancy of the film provides long-term protection, eliminating the need for additional additives that eventually migrate from the film.
DIATHON is a 100% acrylic elastomer designed to provide economical, long-term protection over polyurethane foam roofs and tanks. It combines high solids emulsion polymers, reinforcing laminar pigments, and non-migrating fire retardants for superior durability, waterproofing mildew resistance, ultraviolet resistance and fire resistance. DIATHON is UL 790 Class A classified, Factory Mutual and ICBO listed, and conforms to all VOC requirements. It is currently in place throughout the world protecting over 500,000,000 sq. ft. of polyurethane foam insulation.
DIATHON
was especially developed for protecting sprayed polyurethane foam insulation
from degradation caused by normal weathering, aging and ultraviolet exposure.
DIATHON has the unique property of being an elastomeric
coating that is able to uniformly cover the profile of textured substrates.
It has excellent adhesion to polyurethane foam, concrete, masonry, primed
metal, primed wood and asphalt. DIATHON is used for protection
of sprayed polyurethane foam on new roofs, existing roofs and hot or ambient
storage tanks.
ROOF MATE is
a high solids acrylic elastomer coating system consisting of several components
that work in various combinations, depending upon the substrate and condition,
to waterproof and preserve the existing roof substrate.
Superior weatherability, ultraviolet resistance, fire retardancy, elongation, mildew resistance, flexibility, adhesion, and ease of application make the ROOF MATE System an excellent protective elastomeric barrier for extending the life of most roofing substrates.
